Slik Protect gives you the ability to to automatically backup your Firestore database at a regular interval. Once your Firestore database is backed up, you have the ability to restore it whenever you like.

To get started with Firestore backups you need to create a service account and give it a few permissions. Please follow the steps below and let us know if you have any questions at [email protected].

Step 1 — Create service accounts

This service account allows Slik Protect to connect to your firestore database and export it on a schedule based on your settings.

• Visit Google Console for your Firebase project

• Search for IAM & Admin in the search box

  • Example, for project starter-project you will go to the following link [https://console.cloud.google.com/iam-admin/iam?project=*<starter-project>*](https://console.cloud.google.com/iam-admin/iam?project=<starter-project>)

  Once you land into the IAM & Admin page. We’ll create a new service account.

• Select “Service Accounts” tab on the left sidebar

• Select “+ Create Service Account” from top
